Fit For Duty

Aligning fitness assessments with workplace demands

Contact Us

Fit for Duty helps determine whether workers have the requisite physical capacity to safely perform job roles. Without this capacity, workers (whether they are salaried or volunteers) are putting themselves at risk, their colleagues at risk, and in some industries, putting the community at risk.

Fit for Duty applies to the physical testing/screening programs for both recruits and incumbents. Whether it is a one-off battery of tests or an ongoing program.

The development or amendment of Fit for Duty programs requires a quality scientific process. We’re here to ensure organisations are implementing the right Fit for Duty programs for their workers. There are extensive benefits to this approach.

  • Decreased injury risk for workers;
  • Increased productivity;
  • Improved compliance with fair work legislation;
  • Improved compliance with discrimination legislation;
  • Improved compliance with occupational health and safety legislation;
  • Improved compliance with employer obligations; and
  • Reduced insurance premiums.

At Human Performance Science, we offer a range of Fit for Duty  services based on the needs of our end-users

There is a lot of information to understand in the context of Fit for Duty. We’re here to provide this information in a simple and applicable manner. We do this through  seminars, workshops or private consultation.

Do you have an existing Fit for Duty program you’re looking to have evaluated? We provide independent analysis of currently existing programs to comment on their suitability in the context of best-practice science.

If you’re looking to engage with an external provider, but have the capability to carry out much of the Fit for Duty work yourself, this service is for you. In this relationship, we offer guidance and scientific expertise for the various stages involved in the development of Fit for Duty programs, whilst your staff conduct the work in-house.

We can also take full ownership of the development of Fit for Duty programs. We will establish the current state of your Fit for Duty programs and then develop new programs from scratch or amend your current program. We take care of all the hard work, ensuring we deliver evidence-based outcomes that meet the needs of your organisation.
